Yep--whenever I put a cup, water bottle, or soda can in the forward cup holder (the one nearer the dash) I get a plastic squeakiness that continue until I remove the object or simply hold onto it as I drive. Very annoying. Anyone else observed this; what did you do about it.

Well, I sometimes get some squeaks in those situations, but it's the cup's fault. That is, the friction between the cup and the holder sometimes results in a squeak.
I guess you could glue some felt onto the little fingers that grip the cup, but otherwise, the only thing to do about it is either don't put it in there in the first place, hold it, or ignore it. Since you know it's not a problem with the car, it should be possible to ignore it (which is what I do).

I am not sure whether the squeaks are coming from the interface of the fingers with the object, or alternatively, from the fingers with their supporting parts. That is why I was asking if anyone else had 'solved' this issue.

How about those 'cup insulation' rings you can put around a cup...maybe that would cushion the cup and help you reduce/pinpoint the noise. My experience with Lexus cupholders has not produced any squeaky noise however.

The ones I have seen are too thick, but I am still looking, and I may try some material on the flexible feet as was suggested, but I cannot tell whether the origin is the feet container interface, or the feet cupholder interface. Thanks for the suggestion
