Default Lexus LS460 AWD in the Fall?

Heard today that the LS460 will be available in all wheel drive version in the fall this year.

This is great news for us living in Canada and those in the US snow belt.

Has any of the other members to this forum heard about this?

At last, Lexus is working towards a feature that many LS owners have wanted for years.

Great news indeed! While you're at it, Lexus, please add the AWD option to the GS460 and IS350 too. The IS250 AWD in particular is simply far too underpowered.

As Ralph Kramden would say, "A mere bag of shells!"

A year ago I came close to buying an Infinti M45. I asked several dealers if they knew if Infiniti would produce an AWD in the M45 model (it was available in the M35x model). They had no idea. I went ahead and bought the LS, and now Infiniti is advertising the M45x.

I'm glad I went with the LS, but it is so strange that manufacturers are so tight lipped about their plans. I realize they don't want to cannibalize sales from their existing models, but it certainly erodes confidence from their buyer base.

I hope this happens. Great AWD luxury/sports sedans are too few and far between. It's basically Audi, a few BMWs, some Mercs and a couple Lexi.

I haven't heard anything. If they did, I would think it would be after the 3 year usual refresh.

I can't imagine why they wouldn't offer this. There is clearly a demand.

Thats exactly what I was told in a training class when I asked this question. This was when the LS600hl first came out. I dont know if that has possibly changed since then, but they did mention it as being one of the perks to buying a 600hl.
