I ran over a nail with my tire. Tire pressure reading issue.
Hello guys. I was doing 160km/hr and all of a sudden i got this warning message low tire pressure 180 then 90 then 30 I knew the there was something wrong and the tire was leaking air . I stopped the car and replaced the tire with the spare. everything is fine now thanx to the great technology.
The only problem is the tire pressure readings are incorrect. The nailed tire shows a reading of 290 psi and the spare tire ( which i installed and drove on ) shows a reading of 0 psi. Although there is no air leekage. I tried hitting the button infront of my legs , for an attempt to reset tire pressure but its still the same do i have to take the car to the workshop for reprogramming? So everytime i replace the tire or install new rims i shall reprogram ?

Did the "zero" move when you moved the tire? Each tire pressure sensor has its own 'Signal ID #'. In order for them to move, you will probably need to move the tire pressure sensors. Best bet is to have the tire repaired or replaced and just switch it back.

So, onepoint ... are you saying the sensors don't "auto-recognize", that is, they have to be re-registered in the computer if you move or replace a tire?
I don't mean this to be rude, but I've always thought it was extremely lame that the pressures aren't displayed for specific tire locations (RF, LF, RR, LR) like on many other cars, but if you rotate tires or mount the spare, I'd hope the TPMS would be smart enough to at least keep on displaying that tire's pressure. Am I wrong?

You do not have to re-register the system if you simply replace a tire or rotate the tires. If that was the case, it would be a HUGE headache for both techs, and customers.
If you do say, break a sensor, or install a wheel from another vehicle, you will need to re-register the system. This involves using the techstream, and as far as I know, that is the only way. You also need to remove the tire so that you can read a code off of the sensor so that you can input it into the system. Its kind of a hassle, but thats the way you have to do it.
I do agree with you, it should be able to display the tire location, but unfortunately it was not designed that way. Maybe we will see that on future models, who knows.

I assumed the LS was set up the same way.
