Hi! I will be collecting my new LS460 SWB tomorrow. This will be my very first Lexus. After owning many Mercedes-Benz, I decided to switch as Mercedes always gave me many problems. My car doesn't come with the Mark Levinson audio but it comes with the rear seat upgrade package as standard . After months of consideration, I decided to just get the 460 as the hybrid costs SGD81,000 (USD 60,000) more and also because of the small trunk and the not so good fuel economy. My car's color is Sable Mica Metallic (Truffle Mica) on Grey. I think that I made a very smart choice as a Mercedes S500 costs SGD120,000 (USD85,000) more and it comes with a lot lesser standard equipment. I will be posting some pics when I get the car tomorrow.

ps: Do you think my car will be affected by any problems? eg. engine pulley, wind noise, dash rattle, aux input noise. The last 5 digits of my vin number is 67402 so its an 2008. eg. engine pulley, wind noise, dash rattle, aux input noise

Congratulations! It would be interesting to know what your rear seat upgrade pkg. includes, since equipment varies by market. I guess there's not room for the reclining seat with footrest, so it must be the heated and cooled seats, sunshades, etc. (?)

As for potential problems, we have no way of knowing, but since yours is an '08, it shouldn't have the pulley problem. I would also be optimistic and say it's unlikely you'll have the other issues, either. Lexus does make a good effort to make ongoing modifications when problems crop up.

the one you talk about is the exec package, i also think it would be silly to have that on the swb

but regardless, i want to find out what the rear seat upgrade includes in singapore as well? rear AC unit (smaller trunk)? rear audio controls?

It comes with the 4-zone climate control, rear seat audio controls, reclining seats, cooler box and smaller trunk.
I'm so far happy with the car.

Here are the pictures as promised

Wow, so that's Truffle? It looks so dark I thought it was black! Must be the lighting.

Truffle is the kind of paint that looks different under different lighting, you can't always see the brown hue. Side by side, it's a lighter paint color than the Smoky Granite.

Rear seat upgrade is a standard feature . I actually wanted the LWB version but it comes standard with the Executive-Class Seating Package and I needed the car to be able to seat 5 so I got the SWB 460 but the hybrid LWB (hybrid SWB not available) comes with the 5-seater version but it was too expensive. No air suspension, lane keep assist, mark levinson audio system, self parking (its useless in Singapore anyway because of the tight spaces) but it still is a better buy than the Mercedes S-Class considering that a base S300 (very poorly equipped when compared to a base LS460 SWB) cost US$3500 more. This is a picture of the car in another lighting condition, with smoky granite mica for comparison.
