Good point. However, to go by the 'uncomfortable' scenario, because the LS 600h L is already AWD (and LWB), the LS 460 would get the AWD, just like the 'smaller' IS 250 and GS 350 only get the AWD.

That's just a weird speculation. I hope we see AWD of both available.

The refresh, I think we might see side mirror turn signals...

you think the mirror turn signal will come in 09? so that means facelift for 09?

same here i think if awd is offered, maybe it will be on swb, just like how awd is offered on the "lower" model for the is and gs. don't know why, probably coz' they are more mainstream

My guess too if they choose to offer AWD on only one of SWB and LWB, but only because the LS460L is not sold in Japan.

Well, I am just speculating that a refresh would have a mirror turn signal, but not necessarily that it comes in 2009. 2010 seems more likely IMO. The LS 430 came out 2001, it was 2004 when the refresh happened. LS 460 came out 2007, so I'm expecting 2010 as well.

Yet Lexus is taking its sweet time lately, the 2RX has been held a year longer than the previous gen, the 2SC carries on, it's possible that Lexus will be slow on the LS 460 refresh, preferring to let the products stand (particularly 2RX very successful, and the 2SC design extremely reliable).

I don't think that the introduction of an AWD LS460 model will not boost the very poor sales here in Singapore as nobody buys AWD sedans here. People in Singapore would still rather buy a Mercedes S300L or BMW 730Li because of the brand, most Singaporeans still think that Lexus is just a more luxurious version of Toyota.

it's mostly about region. here in cali, getting an awd car doesn't make much sense, so i don't see ls460 awd would sell well here (just like is250 and gs350 awd). but in area where it snows in winter, that would help

This would without a doubt boost sales in the Northeast

I am interested. Let's see it first, though. The previous rumor said it
was coming out last winter... It is now officially Spring

Default Awd LS 460

I have not heard any news about AWD LS 460 on this forum for over a month so thought I'd share a note that I got from a sales person that I had contacted almost half a year ago.

I just left you a message but wanted to follow up with an email. The last time we emailed in January you said you had gotten a BMW while waiting for Lexus to come out with an AWD LS460....

Great news! The AWD LS460 will be out in the fall (Sept/Oct) and I already have an order for one. So, depending on your time frame I would love to add you to the list so you can be one of the first with this much anticipated vehicle.

I did NOT call the salesperson back because I'm not about to trade a 2 month old car in and absorb a 20-30% loss on a trade toward a car they will not be discounting for a while, but I thought some of you might be interested in this latest information.

Does anyone else have any info about AWD coming out this fall?

I have also gotten the same info from my sales guy. Sept/Oct is when we should see 460 AWD. My guy was not sure about SWB and LWB with AWD, but one of them will definitely have it. My bet is on LWB

I talked with the general manager at my dealer today. He confirmed the LS will be available all wheel drive this fall as a 2009 model.

I'm interested in an SUV and he told me about the LS...
