It will be comparable if not faster than the S500. However it is a tad bit slower than the newer S550 since you do not get direct injection.
If you get the LS460 with direct injection then the 0 to 60 accelerations between the LS and the S550 are virtually identical. The S550 has a better kick for accelerating from ~50 to 70 or so in that range.

Yeah, if the Gulf spec. has no direct injection, then it's not an option you can pick, unless you want to import one from another country with direct injection ...

but if you compare it the S500 and LS460 (Gulf Specs) which one will be faster?
Lexus does not pride itself on its speed - it's just never been a focal point. The LS brand is about ride comfort and aesthetic appeal, although the latter point is certainly arguable.
That said, for a big burly luxury sedan the LS packs plenty of power. It's not what people call "a driver's car" but that's not what large sedans are usually supposed to deliver anyway unless you get into the V12 S600, BMW 760, etc. class.
Again, in your case the gulf version LS 460 will not be faster than the S550.

The S500 (called S550 in America) is faster than the LS 460 (gulf specs). If speed is a primary concern of yours then you should be looking at other brands.

Once again. The LS 460 is faster than both the S500(Year 2007) and the CL 500 (up to 2005). I raced them both and beat them. Raced a friends of mine that owns an S500 twice. Raced another guy thats owns a CL 500 , start point was at the trafic light. If you dont believe me test yourself just dont trust all theoretical readings from websites claiming that their car can run at ? seconds. The only car that has beaten me so far is the Chrysler HEIMI 6.1 very VERY when i say very i mean VERY fast car ;-) *Smokes* out the LS 460 so easy.
