Lexus Introduces New LS 450, LS 500, LS-F Luxury Sedan Models???

Is this an April fools joke?
Somehow I have a feeling that a potential Lexus LS-F is going to be a colossal flop. The LS has a solid reputation as one of the best luxury cruisers in the business with passenger comfort being the highest priority. Most consumer buying it know it is not as sporty as its European rivals but they don't care. The LS customer places comfort on top, generally.
Granted, the market for an LS-F is out there, yet it is most likely very small and hardly worth the effort. Furthermore the LS has never been considered a very sporty car to begin with. The Audi A8 started out as a sporty luxury limousine (Audi V8 it was called) in the 1980s and the Mercedes S class, while always being luxury focused, did have legendary halo cars like the 300SEL 6.3 and 450SEL 6.9 which established a sporty reputation for certain S class models.
I do wonder what an LS-F will look like. Lexus better not add the IS-F body kit styling to it, because that just doesn't belong on a car usually bought by "not so young people".

if they make s-class amg versions, why not an ls equivalent? performance versions of lexus vehicles should have been here a while ago (in my opinion).

Too good to be true for the LS-F.....lexus is too predictable for that.
I woulnd't mind eating my words on that though

by talking to my contact, lexus is clearly trying to go after mb more than bmw. and the full amg line from mb is something lexus wants to copy more or less i guess.
the is-f is already here (and proven). the gs-f is on the way, so i am not surprised about ls-f on the way. i think the engine variation is more for different countries. but then again, couple yrs ago we had s430, s500, and s600. so maybe that's what they want to do?

OK, I am very very gullible. It is hard to believe that Lexus would come up with these huge changes on the flagship so soon after the LS460 introduction. Please, someone verify for sure if all this is true. I hate April Fools jokes. As someone already pointed out, I would be a little disappointed if this is true. I don't want my 2008 LS460L to be outdated so soon.

(Except I was looking in the news release for word that Lexus has given up on the Nav lockout.)

It needs to start somewhere, of course, but at this moment I simply cannot picture the market wanting an LS-F. Besides, it might actually hurt the image of Lexus as the LS460 and LS600h are emphasized as being "fuel efficient/green" cars in their class (Lexus does this here in Germany) and an LS-F will certainly not be efficient with fuel.
I could be wrong, of course. I am no automotive expert and Lexus has better means of knowing and researching the market than me.
