Default Ballpark 08 pricing for SWB & LWB

Guys,

My father asked me to do some research to get some ball park out the door pricing for an 08 LS460 - in both SWB and LWB.

Obviously location and packages change the pricing scenario - but ballpark prices would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Jonny

what's the benefit of the LWB for extra 10k (other than looks and little extra leg room)? I don't get it. Does the LWB offer more standard options (that are worth a damn)? I think Navi is standard on LWB???

http://www.lexus.com/models/LS/detai...ions.html?id=0

pretty easy to see the difference
- extra 5 inches
- navigation
- backup camera
- headlight washers
- climate front seats
- heated rear seats
- heated steering wheel
- power trunk

whether you need those stuff or not let's leave that to you. extra is extra

Henry, except for the extra 5 inches, I've got all that in my SWB plus ML, Adv Park Guidance, Lexus Link and Premium Mats -- I paid under $63K.

I guess I just don't understand the advantges of the LWB.

Seems the 460"L" is $8K to $10K more too isn't it?
That's about $2K more per inch...even John Holmes didn't get that much.

Doesn't the L have a better suspension?

With the SWB you can't get some of the options available on the L. Our favorite is the massage chair and ottoman in the exec class. The disadvantage is that it costs about what a S550 costs and no $2K over invoice.

Thank you for the break down... so the price difference "similar equipped" is around 4k-5k??? Am I calculating this right? That might be worth it

I think this is a better comparsion site between the 2 LS's

So for $10k extra (MSRP) you get:

Rear sun shade, 19" wheels and 5" inches extra length - Standard.
All other features are optional and cost extra

My $63k SWB would cost $71k (plus TT&L) similarly equipped in LWB.

You would get air suspension and variable steering though.
To me it wasn't worth $8k extra plus tax -- to many it is.

when you say 63k, that's your price right? you can't talk about how much you paid. that's negotiated price vs msrp. the question should be what was the msrp of your car, that would be apple to apple comparison

things are different in everyone's eyes imho. to me (no disrespect), swb isn't worth as much as the lwb, coz' lwb looks better to begin with. and from another perspective, it's just like some people who say luxury cars aren't worth the extra.

still though my bottom line is, what would be the msrp of a swb including all the options except the 5 inches? that should be the comparison we see between a lwb base and a similarly equipped swb

actually, i just went to lexus.com and built a ls460 swb with the cheapest package (nav and power door/trunk), and the msrp is 68k (i already took out the delivery fee). so that's 4k difference between the two cars (i didn't bother to check the climate front seats, heated rears, etc...)

That is what I thought, plus you probably get some other extras with the LS460L vs LS460... the bigger question is you'll get a bigger discount on the swb vs lwb, right!
