I contaced Tanabe regarding the cost of the springs about a month ago and they were not that expensive...but they don't do the installs so when I researched that part of the deal, the local place that was recommended by Tanabe (Shoreline Motoring) was going to charge an additional $550...together I recall something to the tune of $700-$800.
The springs do lower the car, but what I recall from seeing on Tanabe's website, it's just over an inch. I would prefer it to drop a bit more.

out of curiosity. why do the rear seats have to come out? the strut tower is underneath the rear seats?
i have to admit i didn't have to go through any of these for the ls460l, i am just curious what's more involved. on my old acura they also had to remove the rear seats to install springs, but they charged 150 or 200 i forgot. of course, that was an acura, not lexus

Wow I did not realize the rear seats had to be removed. I guess I understand now why the labor is a lot more costly.
Compared to normal applications it is expensive to install these springs, but the work involved is much more complicated than a normal spring install. The whole rear seat must be completely removed which can take some time and labor costs will be involved for that. Not to mention it is a Lexus and laborers have to take their time in that type of an install.
