Default Glove box door fix

Don't know, if in USA u got this fix.

Here in Europe, cars come from factory with this small problem.

Problem: when glove box door is closed, right side of it (opposite of keylock) has some movement (moves ~0.7cm with hand touch).

Fix: after having regular service, I was told that they will order me new, modified, glovebox.

Result: will be when I will get my car next time to dealer

Comment: actualy had no problem with it, doesn't create any sound. I noticed it from very first miles, just thought it should be like that.

Mine has this "play" too. It doesn't make any noise, however so I just ignore it. b But it does fly in the face of the "great fit and finish" that Lexus is known for. If there is a fix, perhaps I'll have it done too.

same with me. Some friends saw it, but I was like "it should be like this, and there is nothing u can do about it". But when my dealer told me, that they will fix it as there is a problem, and they fix it for every LS they sold, I was pleased, that lexus keeps its filosofy of "everything in the details"..or how do they say in comercials...:P

I think this TSIB is related to that Glovebox problem

Wow. That's a lot of work to take up a little slack in the door!

This is the one of the gripe I have with the 460...cheap flimsy glovebox as compared to the 430s

I'm glad Audriuss brought it up and there's a tsib for it

in TSIB mentioned above, there is only some kind of "making better tension" fix. My dealer is ordering new glove box door, that has fix. In TSIB above it mensions rattle, but in my situation there is no rattle when driving (even ruff road). Rattle can be made only when oposite corner of glove box door is moved by hand...

or maybe it is same thing, just in USA they fix it, cause there are lot more cars to fix, and in Europe they just put new one...

will know more, in one and a half week when I aranged service time at dealers.

I have a 2008 LS460 built in October, 2007. I showed the loose glove box door to my service tech at the 5k mile checkup. They ordered a new one and replaced the entire glove box assembly. I was aware of the TSIB prior to the 5k and was surprised that the problem was not fixed at the factory since the TSIB was dated 5 months before my car was built.
