Default LS 460 oil change and new mufflers

Just wanted to share my experience with all about oil and mufflers. At approx 10,000 miles changed to Mobil 0w20 synthetic and noticed that the engine ran smoother and revved faster. Recommend it. Also just installed new magnaflow mufflers, straight through perforated pipes, with steel packing and the difference is remarkable. The factory mufflers are two staggered perforated pipes with baffles. Did not change the pipe diameter (2"), did not change the resonators, only the mufflers, after all the Toyota engineers designed the stock system to let it breath up to 6,500 rpm on 2" pipes. There is a noticeable increase in sound, and I like it. The engine breathes and revs much easier and faster. Under 40 mph, I find that I have to take my foot off of the accelerator, and the computer says that I am getting much better gas mileage. Hard to believe at this point as I have only 20 miles since the new mufflers. Will run a full tank to see what real improvement is obtained, but it is running at 70 to 80 with very light pressure on the pedal. I'm amazed. Just so you will know a little about where I come from, I'm 66 years old, have a lift in my garage, 57 chevy with a 502, turbo 400, ford rear end, cal-trac traction bars, rack and pinion steering, and disc brakes, all of which I installed personally. Love to work on my machines in my spare time. Have fun. BTW, the magnaflow part number is 11254. Make sure you get a great mechanic to do the job. The fit is tight, and the bottom and end of the mufflers have to be painted black so they will not be seen from the rear. When installed, they look like stock, but the straight through pipe and sound are the big give aways.
