Scrubbing noise when stopping ... ?
Does everyone have that little scrubbing noise from the brake pads just before you come to a full stop?
I've had it from the beginning, but it hasn't worried me since I know it's just the pads scrunching against the rotors. Just wondering if it's something everyone hears.

I ran into this scrubbing noise from the 1st week. After 18,000 KM, I went to the dealer for the regular oil change which I missed at 15,000 km.
He found that no more break pads thickness were left, and the metal was touching the hub.
I was in a shock because I never expected to lose the break pads so early. I also did not hear any hi pitch noise that usually comes when you lose the pads.
I still don't know how that happened, but I check the break pads more regularly now.
Of course I ended up having to machine the front hubs.
The dealer said the break pads life became much shorter due to the material change to meet the environmental regulations.

^ Wow!
I don't have any reason to think my brake pads are gone, especially since it's been doing this from the start.
But if my pads were gone after only 10-11,000 miles, I'd expect Lexus to pony up some new ones. That's FAR too rapid brake wear!

Actually the only reason I searched the net for a lexus club and my first post was because of this issue.
I have to admit that my driving habits are not good regarding the breaks, and it is not the first car that I lost the hubs, but at least I could predict such issue with my previous cars.
It does not hurt during oil changes to ask the dealer to check the pads thickness.

I had the rotors resurfaced at the 10k mi service because they were slightly warped. They told me the pads were virtually new still.
I have not have the problem stated above....
