My wife has an irritating habit of releasing her seatbelt as we are close to turning into our driveway. This always results in the chime sounding. However, I wouldn’t deactivate the chime for safety reasons.

Here is the answer. I have just done it on my 250 ex 2012. 1-With engine running, make sure odometer is displaying total miles (not trip A or B)
2-Turn off*car
3-Push the start button twice.. (Do Not press pedal)
As soon as the gauges begin cycling:
4-Press and hold the trip button for 20 seconds.
5-After 20 seconds, click and fasten your drivers seat belt.. still holding the trip button down.
A selection will appear in the ODO section that says "B-ON" or "B-OFF".
Press the trip button till it reads B-OFF.
This should disable both the driver and passenger seat belt chimes.
