Default No "trick "to turn the seat belt alarm off?

I find it hard to believe that we have to take it to the dealer to turn this dang thing off. I know on my 06 IS there was a trick with the seat belt and trip computer to turn it off, just like there was a trick to keep the traction control off and get all the doors to unlock when you walk up.

Someone spill the beans for us!

Your dealer can turn it off, however members have had differing result when requesting this change. Check your manual for the "Lexus Personalized Settings" list that can be changed on your car. The tones are a 2-stage warning. The worst is the 16-tone default, and the other is a more basic 5-tone - or it can be turned off altogether. The former is probably targeting families. This topic has been discussed previously, and can be found here.

This is what I had my dealer do prior to picking up my car. They had no problem doing this for me.

1) Auto locking "on"

2) Auto lock shift "off

3) headlights set to come on earlier at dusk (Level 1)

4) headlights set to go off imediately after I turn off the engine AND open the door

5) interior light go off 7.5 sec after I close the door

6) speed sensing seat belt chime turned off

I took mine to the dealer and had them shut it off.

The dealer uses a PC linked via USB to change any settings on your car.

Roadside assistance should (as a customer courtesy) be able to re-program this for you on site, if you ask.

Good Luck

Well if you want to have all doors unlock when you pull the handle you just have to sit inside the car and hold the Lock and Unlock bottons for like 5 secs and it will beep. there will be a pic of the car with all 4's open. For those like myself that dont really enjoy the dealer.

My Singapore spec car has some of the LPS changed from default. For example, all my doors unlock after I press the unlock button or unlock the driver's door and some other things. What pisses me off is that the personalized settings are not available here.

My dealer turned it off completely for me last year when I first got the car.

Default Warning lights.

Here is the answer. I have just done it on my 250 ex 2012. 1-With engine running, make sure odometer is displaying total miles (not trip A or B)

2-Turn off*car

3-Push the start button twice.. (Do Not press pedal)

As soon as the gauges begin cycling:

4-Press and hold the trip button for 20 seconds.
5-After 20 seconds, click and fasten your drivers seat belt.. still holding the trip button down.

A selection will appear in the ODO section that says "B-ON" or "B-OFF".
Press the trip button till it reads B-OFF.

This should disable both the driver and passenger seat belt chimes.

Why would you want to turn it off? Doesn't seem like you're being too safe. Do you drive without having a seat belt on?

Dealer turned it off for me for free..along with turning off daytime running lights. There are times when going through a parking lot real slow or other very low speed situations where it is nice to not hear the dinging. But, as a kid born and raised on military bases and now as an active member of the armed forces..I wear it all the time anyway to make sure my family gets SGLI if I get killed in a crash

yep, some dealers will refuse to turn it off for liability reasons, but the setting can be changed with the techstream computer
