Bye.
And don't forget to point out the round wheels that Lexus copied. Those ingenious Germans thought of everything!

Its clear Lexus of course took styling cues from BMW a long time ago, the LS has some Bangle trunk to it for instance and the points circled in the pics (there are other examples).

However, this is one of the few times I remember BMW maybe taking cues from Lexus and others. Another one is BMW taking the 1992-96 ES 300 headlight design, quad lamps in a clear shapely lens.

Many cars today just look alike!!

There's nothing original in the automotive industry, they all plagiarize each other, and have done so from the industry's humble beginnings. When you invest billions on product launches, it's cheaper and less risky to copy ideas that work, rather than trying original ideas that may flop. Look what happened to Chris Bangle's fresh new design cues...

To accuse one maker of copying another is somewhat laughable. To quote an often used metaphor, "nanos gigantum humeris insidentes", or as the 12th century scholar Bernard of Chartres used to say, "We are like dwarfs on the shoulders of giants, so that we can see more than they, and things at a greater distance, not by virtue of any sharpness of sight on our part, or any physical distinction, but because we are carried high and raised up by their giant size."

There were similar attributions later by Isaac Newton & Albert Einstein...
