Default Winter Driving with LS460

I'm currently own a IS250 AWD. I'm thinking to get a LS460 cause the IS250 just too small for my need. But I living in upstate Ny, that's plenty of snow during the winter season. So I need some input how the car perform on the snow. Thanks.

It performs great with a set of good snow tires. Even without snow tires, it does better in snow than the LS430 did in my opinion.

Without snow tires, it's fine as long as it's on the flats. Any hint of a hill and it's bumper cars. I know, it happened to me... complete and utter loss of control. I will be getting either Michelin or Bridgestone snows this winter. I will also be seriously considering trading up to the '09 AWD. I've never had a RWD behave so erratically in snow conditions on All Weather tires like this LS. Scary, to say the least...

Wait for an 09 model with all wheel drive. My LS with all season tires sucks in the snow. I drive my SUV in the snow and leave the LS in the garage...

All wheel drive will be an option for 2009.

I wonder if they will make AWD available for both 460 & 460L. They should, but with Lexus, you never know . . .

Based on the info I got from my sales guy, AWD will only be available on 2009 LS 460L.

I agree with the above; snow tires will do the trick in the average snow. If you are in deep stuff though you could get stuck and you may feel a little sideways movement up steep hills from a start but the ETC keeps that pretty well in check.

From what my dealer told me, all wheel drive will be available in both short and long wheel base for 2009.

You will be able to order all wheel drive on the LS 460 for 2009.

Right now, and as it usually is with Lexus, it's just hearsay.

The only announcements I've seen in the quarterly Lexus magazine are the GS-F and the small new Lexus hybrid.

I am leasing 1907 LS460. What do you think about renewing on a smaller model with the same comfort and perks?
