I've had it, dumped my ride and bought a fancy 4X4...

Congratulations Barnaby! What an incredible deal! Considering, it does not have the executive seat package (from what I remember from your test drive post), I bet you did not pay more than about $60K for this awesome vehicle.

I had about 30K miles on my LS. In Canada, the 2008 is priced at $80K; my net loss is $20K which is not bad for a 16-month old car high end vehicle. And of course, with the tax recovery on the trade-in, it didn't take me long to make up my mind. Dealers are also a little nervous carrying big cars with big price tags, especially trade-ins as their line of credit interest for used stock is much higher that Toyota's rate for their new inventory. I was going to finance the difference, but they wanted me to pick up half of their lower interest finance charge ($1500) from Toyota. Rather than eat the $750, I bought it out.

Traded it in, got an excellent price for it. They came up $8K from book value in the negotiation. They think it'll sell quick as used SWBs are in demand, and in shortage.

Welcome to a very select club!
But your bargain got me a little worried... I also scored a very good deal from our dealer. Is it our clever negotiating skills or something else we don't know about?
