How do you tow the ls 460
I checked the manual, the picture is very small. It looks like there is a small lead on the front bumper. You remove the lead (I guess with a screw driver)
Under this lead which is about (1.5 inch by 1.5 inch) there should be a towing hook where you attach the cable to. I would think the next step will be to use the motorized winch on the flat bed to pull the car up the flat bed.
But what about the position of the gear? What if the engine can't run?
what if the towing truck cable does not fit this little hole in the bumper?
If there is a better procedure than the manual, I will highly appreciate.
I am only 20 km from the dealer, I am sure they always can send some one, but I travel and drive a lot and I need to be prepared.
Thanks

mmmmmm on the gear theres a shift lock button. In my place i would hit the shift lock button and set the gear to "N". Dont forget to disengage the brake system as well, assuming that you have it enabled whenever the gear is on "P".

In many cases, the tow truck operator disregards manufacturers' recommendations and I've seen them drag the car with all wheels locked onto the flat-bed truck. With lift-type tow trucks, they'll hoist the front end and jack the rear wheels using bogies. So, no matter it's usually left to the discretion of the driver, and that's not always a good thing. I remember seeing an eye-bolt (I think it's called an eyelet in the manual) in the trunk that screws into the towing connector in front. The manual covers this topic, albeit cursorily.

thanks everyone
I went back to the manual. There is very clear procedure. I missed the last 2 pages the 1st time.
two lugs in the back bumper, and one in the front.
But good question why 3 , and not two.
thanks all

The driver of the flat bed will lower the bed down and put your lexus on it. I have never seen a lexus on a flat bed or being towed. THATS QUALITY THAT THE LEXUS IN KNOWN FOR.

The flatbed's deck tilts back and a winch is used to pull the vehicle onto the truck. Looks like this:
what we have is flat bed, and a winch without inclining back.
When the car is to be pulled up the flat bed , the wheels have to rotate and the car will be in steep slope to the point the rear will touch the asphalt.
The only solution around this is a 5 ton fork lift to lift the car up the flat bed.
thanks Burnaby

Mythbuster, all flatbed tow trucks have tilting beds. There's no such thing as using a forklift to place a car on a flatbed truck. For one thing it would take one monster forklift considering the weight of an LS460, not to mention the damage to the undercarriage and assorted parts!
