Hi,
does somebody know, if the LS 460 with cruise control with distance keeping does work in STop and Go and that the cruise control brakes until the vehicle stops, if there is traffic jam for example and the cars in front of you stop?

The radar cruise control automatically shuts off once the car drops below 25 mph. There is both an audible and visual warning when this happens.
A couple times I've had cars cut right in front of me going at a much slower speed (hey, I live in the Boston area, need I say more). The LS applied the brakes hard to maintain distance. I've hovered my foot over the brake, but I never had to touch it.
I first tried this system on an Infiniti Q45. Once I experienced it I swore I would never buy another car without it.

More than just a convenience feature, if your attention is diverted and the car in front of you suddenly slows down, your car will start slowing down as well so a quick reaction from you isn't necessary.
I've heard that the S550 radar cruise control does work down to 0MPH.
Heavy precipitation will shut it down, so the cruise control can be started in "Non-Radar" mode to just maintain the set speed.
