I do like music of course,I havent been in the Lexus game for awhile now since 2001,My first lexus was a 1992 sc400 Nakamichi system and that was an awsome system it sounded so crisp,powerful,and clean,then from that I went into a 1999 GS400 with the Nachamichi and was disappointed couldnt even compare to the Sc and with less speakers, its like they dropped Quality,They can tell you all they want on how advanced it is but does it meet up to it expectation?You tell me!

I recommend you try it for yourself, but the ML system in the LS 460 is reportedly the best audio system in any Lexus, and one of the best on the market today. My experience is mostly with the predecessor LS 430 system, and it is excellent IMO.

If you are an audiophile, then the ML system is about the best you can get in any car. It was one of the two accessories that I was most interested in when I got my car. It is also one of the great bargains compared to the cost of a decent audiophile system. If you listen to music primarily as background, or listen to AM radio for the news, then the ordinary system is fine.

Absolutely it's worth it! No question about it.
It's one of the best things I like about my LS. The sound is phenomenal and the on board hard drive that I rip my CD's to is extremely cool.
I think I've got 50 to 60 CD's in the thing and it's really neat to browse through the list to pick out whatever I want to listen to.

Speaking of ML, I know that musical tastes are somewhat subjective but can anyone recommend a good CD that the ML system will do justice to?
Most of my CD's are of older vocals, Jazz and musicals that were originally done in HiFi and other obsolete mediums. The score from the movie Titanic has the greatest range in my collection so I would appreciate some other recommendations other than Rap, Heavy Metal, etc..
Thanks;
Pat

Got to agree with all the comments....get the ML. I figured if I was going to spend this kind of money for a car, might as well get the best. This is the first Lexus I've bought that had a HD system, and as Stoks says it's just cool having your music at your finger tips. I pretty much keep it on the "shuffle" mode and enjoy.

Since I've hooked up to XM, I find the range and quality of the music available there are ideal for bringing out the capabilities and the versatility of the Mark Levinson audio system - especially the Jazz & Classics stations. XM is a must have, imho.
