It's threads like this that make so glad I work in the Texas area. I would laugh someone right out of the dealership at invoice on an LS.

Not as much as me, if someone was foolish enough to pay invoice for a LS today. Invoice today is like MRSP last year.

I basically pitted all the dealerships from Houston, San Antonio, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Austin against each other. Sewell of Dallas worked very hard for the pricing for me. Even offered to fly me out to pick up the car or have it delivered.

JDM, I was quoted $1175 with no money down on an 08 LS460 SWB MSRPing at $72K. And that lease payment incorporated a HUGE hit for trading in a leased 08 GS350 only 7 months into the lease. You're not taking a hit on a leased trade-in, so you should definitely be able to do $1100 or better.

Keep in mind that lease payments can vary wildly state to state because of different Lexus programs and state taxes.

For instance, in Texas, you are taxed on the entire purchase price of the vehicle.

So a $65K car has $4100 in taxes which have to be accounted for. In Florida, and in California I believe, you are taxed on your payment, which means far lower lease payments in California than Texas with no money down.

Sellhomes or anyone else - any deals that beat the 4K off Invoice? Also did you find the dealers willing to show you actual invoice or was it a fight?

I spoke to Fremont Lexus dealer. They have no problem to match $4K below invoice or even better. No fight. However they have very limited inventory of 08.

My wife and I went looking around today at a local Lexus dealer (DFW, Saturday, noonish)
There was me, her, two other people and about 20 salespeople.
The economy totally stinks
I'd rather pay sticker and have everything be back to normal.

So what kind of deals were you looking at - did you get to $'s? LS SWB or L model?

I was actually looking at used LS's and was comparing what the dealer had to what I had found elsewhere.
All I can and should say is that this is the time to score a LS.
We were originally looking at ES/GS's until I searched the net.
I can get a slightly used LS for the same coin as a new ES. Amazing
Now the big decision

Nice - let us know how you make out. Used LS's with low miles are within a few K of a brand new LS in my part's- making used a non starter... I'd need to get a significant discount between USED and New for it to make it worthwile.
