I am new to this forum. I do not own a Lexus, but I have been given the honor to learn how to drive, use a brand New LS460.
.
I know it sounds crazy. I am part of several other Auto Forums Benzworld.org and Nicoclub.com, because car talk and learning are my thing. Most likely I will see the LS460 this weekend. So, what's some of the first things I should look into about this dynamic machine?

Welcome to CL!!! Wow you are a new driver, using an LS? That's a rather large car to practice on, I would definitely recommend being very careful, also when going over bumps/dips, to slow down and avoid hitting the underside of the vehicle. For myself, we learned driving using something more modest, like a Toyota Corolla.
It's great to be part of multiple car forums and learn from each. Now as for the LS 460, what features are you interested in? The gadgets, luxury features, etc? There is plenty to talk about.

Hello and welcome!
If at all possible I would strongly recommend that you get the manuals and read as much as you can before driving the vehicle. There is also a CD and DVD you can review as well.
Keep the shiney side up!

I own a 1994 Q45T Pearl White. Previous was a E320 Metallic Black. Nothing compared to the LS460, but they are/where my starter cars. I can't afford a LS460, but have been given the opportunity to learn as much about this beauty as possible. I am also smart enough to know that forums are the best place to start. I will view the CD's and DVD's but there is nothing like user testimony to get you right in the mix.

Ah, ok. Well, some of the gadgets...definitely practice the APGS (automatic parking), the Brake Hold function, and if the car is so equipped, radar cruise. Also the navigation, memory settings...just some off the top of my head...

Actually I remember him asking me what kind of car he should get next a couple of months ago. I told him the LS460 would make a great upgrade from his current ES which I think is an 06. I am happy he trust my ability to learn cars really quick and give him advice on car care, best drive and such. I just did the same for a friend who purchased a C230 Kompressor which was extremely nice.

Ok, I now have all the manuals to my boss's LS460. I will post specs and such. I just got it today. I am going to study this thing in and out. He wanted me to hold on to the car, but I told him, let me study as much as I can then let me hold the car. One thing he and I noticed is it did not come with a cd. Is there a way to obtain this CD or DVD with little hassle? Thank you

I am revising my original request to assistants with the blue tooth. I had problems and after going back and forth with my boss's phone I have figured out that his phone doesn't allow for incoming blue tooth connectivity. I assumed it was the device and connected by Blackberry 8800 easily. His phone would not pair with my own. I have followed all the steps with his phone and his phone will not prompt for key code entry. I have a meeting tomorrow with our corporate carrier rep to get him a new phone. I have programmed his beach house gate and corporate office gate already. I guess whats important is to teach him how to turn off and on blue tooth because blue tooth uses up battery strength and leaving it on also has security risk.
