Default 2009 bmw 750li what do you think

I have own my ls460l for 4 months now the car is great economy wise, but the engine noise just not going to cut it this is a 83000 dollar car,and it should run quiet (sounding like a truck engine). I will be test driving the 2009 bmw when it comes out what do you guys think about the new bmw 7 will it be tempting to you

i haven't driven the 09 7 of course, but comparing to the s550 i think the ls460l is quieter on engine noise already

and comparing the previous s500, ls430, and 750? bmw to me had the loudest engine noise inside cabin

Are you sure you own an actual LS and not some cheap knockoff?

Because it is pretty much the quietest car on the road.

I agree, mine is very quiet... Can't hear any engine noise while driving mine...
BMW's are nice, but not as reliable. I would hate to own a first model year BMW, it will be full of bugs...

Good luck,

Craig

I was first on the waiting list at my BMW dealership just before I bought my LS and since then I decided to cancel my order since the LS has everything I want and much more. Lexus really got this car right.

In short, I like the 7 in a lot of ways but I wouldn't give up my LS for it

This may surprise some of you, but the 600's engine "appears" to be noisier or more apparent than the 460 was. I've attributed that to the Hybrid function of this vehicle. When the motor shuts down (idling, coasting or stealth "aka EV mode"), it is very, very quiet. So when the engine does kick in, its low rumble is quite audible, especially when the engine is cold. When it warms up though, the engine is definitely as quiet or quieter than the 460. But to stay on topic, the 460's engine is very quiet, except when you floor it, of course.

I agree with everyone that the LS is super Quiet, especially at a slow cruise it feels like its just floating, zero noise.Like what my old man says everytime he walks passed it when its running(Is that thing running,It sounds like one of those quiet sewing machines) .

i concur, my LS is very quiet. Sometimes I forget I am even driving because of how quiet the cabin is I have owned and driven a lot of cars and I can honestly say the LS is by far the quietest so far.

Jesse, check to see if your car was part of the pulley recall. Either that or you may have some other problem. Go by your dealer and start up a demo and see if it sounds the same.

Okay, if the LS460 is "loud" then you must have either bionic sensitive hearing or super touch. I have test driven and also recently attended the Taste of Lexus event and when I first stepped into the LS460L, I thought the previous driver had turned the engine off, until I saw the tach. and it was hovering at about 400 rpm. I could not hear it, nor feel the engine.

If your LS is really that bad, then something is wrong with it. It's not the LS460, it's your LS460. Get it fixed and don't look into the BMW. Don't downgrade yourself like that and believe in the hype. I have not driven the '09 7, but previous generation 7's have just been pure 'drivers vehicles' with nothing else in terms of luxury or comfort to back it up. So, if having raw power for the few times you might need it is more important than having comfort for your other 90% of driving, then go with the BMW.

For me... I've gone down a very dark path. Down the dark path of the Force have I taken. I know this LS430 have will not be the last LS... I'm spoiled now, but in a fantastically good way.
