Smile Just got my 2009 All Wheel Drive LS-460

I am new to both Lexus ownership and this forum so will keep it brief. My 2009 L-460 AWD Smoky Granite Mica w/ dark/walnut interior was delivered to my workplace yesterday. It really is a beautiful combination. I also opted for the Mark Levinson sytem with Advance Park Assist. I have not figured out the parking system, yet, but the sound system is great. I did test drive a 2008 ( not all wheel, obviously ) and with the standard sound system. There is sufficient difference in the sound quality so that, for me, who loves good music, the M-L was well worth it. The AWD does not feel signifiantly different than the 2008 with regard to any "nose-heaviness". I was concerned about the extra weight, but the car is fairly nimble with all that horsepower. I was also interested in the "wind noise" issue talked about at length on another post, but I cannot hear any excessive noise, yet. ( It could be that I have been running the stereo full tilt ! ). This car is rock solid !

Congratulations and welcome to the board!

You are the first person on here, to my knowledge, to have gotten the LS 460 AWD. Agreed, the ML system is definitely worth it Hope you enjoy your car!

Congrats from me as well.

I'm looking forward to snow this winter as my previous LS without AWD was a real dog, for me anyway.

It should also reveal whether I need winter snow tires, as the decision is a marginal one in the Northwest...

I do not believe the 460L's are out yet. I can't speak of the AWD versions since we will never see one.

Congrats, and welcome to CL.

Pictures of the car are mandatory, or someone will send bad karma your way. It's a board rule.

Congratulations! There is nothing like the smell of a new Lexus. I have had the 460 (non AWD) in the snow (with snow tires) and it did well but my wife insists on taking the RX (also with snow tires) whenever it snows as she fears the RWD of her LS460.
