There are old unfounded rumors that suggest reverting back to conventional should not be attempted. Some claim synthetics have superior seal and gasket conditioners, although this is a fallacy. None of this has been proven and even my dealer offered the choice between the two at my last change. The oil that was being replaced was synthetic, and they asked which one I wanted to replace it with.

I am not a qualified tech so i do not want to give incorrect information on having to stay with synthetic oil once you begin using it. I have heard something similar with respect to "superior seal and gasket conditioners" but I am cautious on definitey making a statement unless I can provide scientific evidence or know it to be true based on what experts in the industry have said. This is why use world lie "May" or "Could" (based on what I have heard) unless I know for sure otherwise

However consider these FACTs: The function of oil is to lubricate the wear/tear parts while also dissipating the heat. Conventional and synthetic use entirely diferent cleaning agents and an entirely different list of agents to dissipate heat. Synthetic does a significantly superior job than conventional when it comes to these basic functions. In addition, sludge buildup occurs rapidly with conventional oil requiring change at clsoer intervals (3000-5000 miles). When you consider these facts, synthetic is a no brainer. Why would you revert to an inferior process when you have been delivering a superior one? And why would you burden yourself in having to be more vigilant in changing the oil 3-5000 miles with an inferior product when you can allow yourself much more maintanance lattitude with a superior one?

Do you know a Lexus Master Certified tech. has to go through a 3 day training course for this vehicle so they know everything about them so trust in the dealer to do what is in the owners manual the right way and to fix it when you have a problem. instead of not understanding when something breaks they will not bend over backwards to help you becouse you go to jiffy lube for oil changes and such.

Now that is just too funny. Do you have a show in Vegas?
I’ve seen those “certified” techs that can not put a car on the lift correctly.

DIY, never jiffy lube.

AMSOIL is supposed to be the real thing.

But I think it can only be bought through their network dealers.

Amsoil can often be found at Carquest and some Napa Auto Parts stores.
