Truffle Mica Exterior Color
So, it appears that Truffle Mica is only available on the LS460 and LS460L, but not the LS600hL for 2009. Truffle Mica is not an available color choice under the Build Your Lexus section for the hybrid. Anyone know anything about this? I do know Truffle Mica IS available on the Pebble Beach edition of the 2009 hybrid, but I am not interested in the Pebble Beach edition.

Now you know how the car business works. If a buyer is going to shell out extra money for a limited edition car, he'd like the emphasis on the "limited" to extend to as many areas of the car as possible, including the paint color.

I actually think it's pretty lame that they pick a non-exclusive color for a PB special edition, or any special editions.
Last year, the truffle was exclusive to the Launch Edition 600hL in the U.S., now they make truffle availble for the 09 460's but again pick truffle for the special edition 600hL
Lexus used to make exclusive paints for their special editions, like for the SC430 special editions - the thundercloud metallic, diamond black metallic, tiger-eye mica, etc. These paint colors remain exclusive to that one special edition throughout the model cycle & not available to any other later models, that's the way it should be, but now Lexus go cheap & doesn't do that anymore

I agree Truffle mica looks good on other Lexus models too, but they should never have made Truffle mica the paint for any Special Edition models at all
Truffle mica was available for all LS460/600 in Canada and Japan, & likely the rest of the world except USA, from day one for the 2007 model. Yet they pick it as exclusive for the 2007 600hL Launch edition in USA, & again for the 2008 Pebble Beach Edition, even though they make truffle available for the 2008 LS460's too
As I have said above, they should go back to what they have done with a few of the SC430 special editions, make a special paint for it for only one model year, & never use it on any other Lexus models again.
Even then, I always thought the Lexus special editions have never been special enough with just cosmetic differences that does not even include different body kits, etc.
