Since we sell both products, I think I can speak on this topic without bias. At the end of the day it all comes down to the wants / means of the end user.
VOSSEN
I really would not relegate the VOSSEN's to "cheap" classification. Although they are a cost effecive option, they aren't like the "bozo's racing rims" type stuff that you can get 20's for 699.00
I can honestly say that VOSSEN is one of (if not the) only company that can offer a 20x9 / 20x10.5 5x120 wheel for Lexus LS460 that has proper caliper clearance and tps compatibility and still cost under 2k for wheels alone.
Also they stand behind their product, which even some custom wheel companies don't do! (ask me how I know )
MODULARE
These are in a different class altogether. You are essentially paying for the custom craftsmanship. Since they are made to order, here in the US, its going to be alot more expensive.
The finishing on these wheels is simply gorgeous, and the faceting in the spokes is beautiful as well.
As Reggie noted, for he money you spend on these babies they SHOULD be special!
To the O.P., if you have 6 or 7k to lay out on wheels / rubber, then by all means MODULARE. If the mid 3k range is more your sweet spot then the VOSSEN's
Either way.........buy them from D2!!
