ML Audio Playing CD - Changing Listen Position
Page 358 of the Owners Manual (3-3 Using the Audio System).
I am unable to change the listening position - I do not have the "CHANGE" button and do not see the logo of the car seats as shown on page 358. Do you need something other than ML to see the "CHANGE" button and mod the listening position?

That's too bad... Would have liked to maximize the sound stage for the drivers seat vs how the ML system is optimized by default (rear seats).

ML's reference system is defaulted to a neutral position, just back of the driver's seat. They had to pick something as the front seats have a long travel, especially the LWB. The sound gets richer, or bass'ier when the listening position is shifted to the rear seats, where the subwoofer is situated. That's why it sounds better in the back. However, when I redirect the listening position to the back, the very low frequency emphasis can be a little bit overbearing. Some tunes can actually give me a background headache, and I've never been susceptible to this in the past, so that ML system really does deliver the goods, albeit too much at times.

Overall my limited experience with the ML - 2 weeks and counting I would give it a 5 out of 10... I'm not nearly as impressed as I thought I might be. It's not worse than systems in my other cars/previous cars but its not better either...
Burn - I know what you are talking about with the low frequency flapping --- give me a headache as well.

Just looking at the system in my 08 Sequia Platinum IMO it sounds equally good - and is easier to listen to on a variety of music types/sources. Like Burn said when I turn it up with a variety of music types it goes into the "Bass flap" and provides sense of headache so I turn it down.
I agree with many others - that with the right CD you can get great results. Problem is that for the most part with Radio and Sat the experience is not impressive.
I have a feeling that over time and by tweaking the settings and selecting the right material this system will indeed have "Fantastic Moments".
