Well, they certainly didn't ask this User. Touch screen is a step up from I-Drive, imho. I wonder where they would get this type of feedback, when reading this forum should be enough, again imho.
If cosmetic changes would be adequate enough, then perhaps the OP might consider a body kit from Tom's or other after-market suppliers. These high quality signature kits make a car look unique enough to stand out in a crowd of cookie-cutter OEM cars.

I don't know where this idea came from that the touch screen in the LS will be replaced with a master ****, but I don't believe it for a minute. This would only happen if the LS was completely redesigned and the nav screen were moved toward the windshield where it would be hard to reach (like in the new RX, BMWs, etc.). But the LS' screen now is close to the driver and was made for touch operation. It would make zero sense to change this to a **** control. And redesigning the entire dashboard is not the kind of thing that would get changed/updated in the current generation car.

The refresh is still on schedule for 2010. Lexus DARKEST days were in teh mid 1990s when a 100% tariff was threatened on all imported luxury cars. Also the 2nd gen LS did not sell nor have the fanfare as the 1st gen. The 1998 refresh really reinvigorated interest in the LS.
Lexus has a set refresh schedule.
