Default What does "Snow" power setting do?

On my previous LS430, setting the power switch to "Snow" caused the car to start off from a stop in 2nd gear.

On my LS600hL, there ARE no gears (CVT), so what does the "Snow" setting do?

It electronically controls acceleration to prevent wheels from spining from a dead stop, and aids the stabilization system in higher gears.

I thought the traction control system did this....

This just helps traction control not spin the wheel in any gear no matter how hard you stomp on the gas.

If you driving in snow -- use the button -- it will help you be safer.

I agree with the above. Another big dump hit us last night, however it was the wet kind as temperatures are now hovering around 0 to 1C. This is the worst kind of snow for any vehicle, including AWDs, and it really taxes the 600 to its limit. Yes, stomping on the throttle yields nothing, but the Hybrid Snow setting got me out of a skewed situation pronto.

not just the traction control, it mainly retards the throttle response a lot so you get a slow start to help with grabbing on the road
