Default using ipod

I tried hooking up my ipod (4th generation Nano) through the accessory jack in the console glove box. At first I thought it was not working properly until I turned up the volume on the radio to around 50 until I got some sound out of it. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Turn the volume all the way up on the iPod.

Default boostaroo

hi,

before i got the vaistech unit, i also found low volume from the iPod, even with the iPod volume all the way up. i found this unit from boostaroo. it worked very well, and cleaned up the sound as well.

they now have other products that might be more appropriate. also, the unit i got is available at amazon.
