PHCMA,Thanks for taking the time to post, nice job.
Personally, the LS is still better looking. I'm sure the 7 in black with a better set of wheels would look better but not as good as the LS. To me the side of the seven looks good. The front grills are too small and they kept those turn signal eyebrow things. The rear is better but still chopped with those backward looking tail light lenses.
The LS looks more balanced and sophisticated and slightly sexy.

I can't make out what is on the front quarter panels, is that a vent of some kind?

I had the previous 7 series (E38) from 01 before (2 cars before) the LS. I still think the 7 from that period has a much better front end than the new one and even the rear (even though dated) is still nicer. Lots of debate over the years on Bangle's mess.

I looked at the new 7, but didn't drive it. I do think that the comfort seats in the 7 are better than those offered by Lexus. BMW also offers side-view cameras and night vision now. I think that the 750il that I looked at has a MSRP of $101,000. I wish that the LS offered Lane Departure Warning and blind spot technology. I'll bet it is coming soon.

Its funny how they gave themselves so much credit for being "creative" instead of trying to attune to a conservative or wide range of tastes (they mocked Lexus for this for years, in addition to copying the 7's style). But numbers speak, and BMW realized what buyers wanted, and seem to have done a good job doing just that this time around by taking a good look at the 460.
