Default stock air suspension

hi, i am a newbie in search of a ls460, but how do i determine if it has a stcok air suspension on it? is there a certain button on the center console to look for or is there any other way to identify it? i currently have a ls430 and i know how to determine ls430's if they have air, but i have no idea how to determine if an ls460 has air suspension.

also did the ls460 come out with stock air suspension or is it only the ls460l?

can someone help me out. thanks.

I may be wrong but I believe the air suspension is only available on the L version. There is a switch on the center console to select the suspension (Sport, Comfort, Normal). I would look for a car with the touring package. Better brakes, better steering, air suspension, better wheels. The touring package is only available in the L version.

That is correct, the pneumatic suspension is not available on the standard short wheel base LS460, only on the long wheelbase *and the short wheelbase AWD*. In addition, there is a "Height" button that actuates lifting or lowering the car three inches.

You know, I wonder if there is a way to use the Height High button to lower the car? I'm sure the dealer could set the limits of that switch so that in normal mode the car is lowered (more than normal) and with the height high switch pressed the car returns to a normal height?

The air suspension is available on the L as an option, or as part of the touring package. It is standard on all AWD cars, including SWB

yes, if you have the height control button, you have air suspension. otherwise, you don't have it

G2, the height control button doesn't really adjust the car much at all. i am sure you can adjust or play with the leveling rod to make use of that button, but i won't expect night and day difference. if you want to be able to really lower your car, the ride controller is the only option

so, the ls460's are like the ls430's, where if you have air suspension and you buy the controller you can pretty much raise and drop the car.

do you know if they have different types of leveling rods like for the ls430,they have a company by the name of you zealand that sells a type of drop block that goes on the end of the strut that would drop the car an additional inch or 30mm.

i suppose the ls430 and ls460 should be similar on the air suspension. i am just not sure if some companies already have the drop block that you mentioned for the ls460. on my car i just got the controller and call it a day since it's a lot more flexible

How difficult is the controller install? I'm thinking of doing the controller, ipod interface and nav override at the same time.

Your engine must be running. If it is, then there must be a defect in the system.

it's not too bad. i have done a lot of install and it takes me about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to do all 3? it's a good idea if you do all of them together, they access different part of the car but share maybe 1-2 panels

if you get it from prestigious, they include all installation instructions anyway
