No, the proximity sensor has a very narrow range and the trunk will only respond when the keyfob is within that range. The only thing you can do is purchase another one (evidently your second one is not available). There are some available on Ebay here, but the mechanical key would be useless unless you get a new one cut (probably $$$ from Lexus). A good idea would be to acquire one this way, and either discard or keep the key as a dud. Your dealer could then reprogram the new one. That would be the one you would give to the Valet; the trunk and glovebox could thus not be opened mechanically - adding an extra layer of security for those areas.

Default Opening trunk with motor running.

On the LS460 (short or long) you may choose to keep the key with you and only give the valet the proximity sensor. You can also lock the trunk with the button/switch inside the glove box and then lock the glove box and keep the key with you. If you want to get in the trunk, use the key in the trunk key recepticle. I have not tried this, only a suggestion, good luck.

i just want to be able to push the trunk button while the car is running and it opens, even if the key is still in the car.

if i got out of the car to pick something up quick and keys were in my briefcase and i came back to car and wanted to pop trunk, i cant bc car is running with keys inside.
i would always have to make sure i had keys on me to pop it from the rear button.

maybe i need that wallet card key so i always have it in my pocket?

weird

I don't understand why you just don't have your chauffeur open the trunk. I mean doesn't everybody do it that way?

I try to get my chauffeur(ette) to do lots of things, but I always get the same reply, "Not now honey, I've got a headache"...

I suppose you could always keep your key in your pocket instead of your briefcase -- jacket or pants pocket.

I'd hate to hear your had car stolen with the key inside the brief case in the car while you were trying to open the trunk from the back. Yuch!

Wallets with key cards get stolen or misplaced.

Many women don't mind the bulge it would create in your pants!
