So last night I turned the traction control off and decided to see what the car would do under full power. Let's just say I'm now a little closer to getting rid of these Bridgestone's!

My question is, after my shenanigans the traction control automatically turned back on and I then couldn't switch it back off. Is this normal?

Yes that normal buddy. It turned back on because the car accelerated more than 60 Km/Hr. You werent able to switch it back off is because the car was in motion ; inorder to do so the car must be at rest.

To completely disable the control. First the car should be at rest. Hit the button and hold untill you see a message saying " VSC OFF ". By that the VSC will remain like that no matter what your speed is. You can enable it at any speed by pressing the button once.

how did you turn off the traction? just by pressing the button? you need to press and HOLD on the button until the traction and vsc light comes up. in that case the whole system is fully off.

now you can really go do what you want. just make sure you know what you are doing coz' when it goes, it really goes, the ecu wont' save the car anymore

and yes, the stock tires can't handle what the car is capable of at all

what about the "power ETC" setting? i can't figure out what it does... i have not noticed a major difference.

it does NOT give more power. it controls the shift point a bit and the car tends to shift a bit higher rpm than not in PWR mode. i don't notice huge difference neither. plus if i am redlining the car, it's not going to be any different

That's right, it's actually "Engine Controlled Throttle" and measures the difference between the throttle depression, Rev's and Speed, to extend the shift points a little higher for a sportier sprint. I do notice it , but I manually shift my car for power/performance, a lot. Jim
