What is expected mileage on front brake pads. My dealer is telling me that 14,500 miles is normal for replacement. Is this normal? I have read that the brake pads and rotors on the LS460 are high friction and are not expected to have very long life.

It really depends a lot on how you drive. On my G35 coupe, I needed replacements at 15,000 miles. My wife has been driving it for the last couple of years and has 25,000 miles on the current set and the last inspection showed plenty of pad still left.

Geaux Cajuns (sorry for the alumni thread jacking)..... brake pads are very dependent on type of driving done. I sell tires and wheels. For example, one tire i sell that some customers get only 15-25k miles on (toyota camry / honda accord), i have another customer getting 40k out of the same set of tires on a modified and lowered car (Acura Rsx lowered 2.5 inches). Tire I am speaking of is a Falken St115. 225/40/18.

I had to replace mine at 19000 miles, but that is because i go up and down PV hill everyday for 2 years, and i did some extensive braking.... i think 14000 miles is rather too early.
