Default LS460 87 vs 93 Does it Really matter?

I was wondering for the earlier models of LS460's does it really matter if you run 93 vs 87?

Only reason I was asking is because my father had a 09' 460 that we ran to 380k miles before the transmission gave out and we got rid of the car. The car never had a problem with the engine at all before that and all he ever filled it was with 87' never 93. He used the car for his transportation company and never had problems running 87 and was the sole owner.

Recently i had an 07' 460 at 169k miles and ran it all on 87 to 183k before it got totaled in an accident 3 weeks ago. Never used premium, Never had knocks on either. The only thing i noticed was a month before the 07' got totaled, the check engine light used to come on for the catalyst converter. Scanner said the right side of the converter was becoming defective. Only owned the car for 11 months before it got Hit and totaled. I really wanna say because the car was a lemon practically when I bought it. Had a lot of issues & was in accident it was in before buying, From wiring issues, head lights, radiator issues, oil leaks. Converter could have been another part? not sure

I love the 460's and want to buy another earlier Gen from 07'-12' but if i buy does it really matter if i run 87 compared to 93? i want to buy another.

My cousin who is another Lexus driver and mechanic told me this time to run a octane booster or cleaner every 3rd fill up this time if i decide to use 87.

Also what would you guys look for on a 460 before buying? im aware of making sure they are on struts instead of bags
