I use high quality wax and polish. People get so wrapped up in waxing the car and don't realize that the polish is really what get the car to look like a mirror.

Chuck
yes, if removed correctly it will come off without damaging the paint and new films re-applied

For the folks that had their entire hoods done with the 3M or other - do you feel that is noticed less than having the line across the hood? I mean doesn't the film dull the entire hood versus the rest of the car rather than only the front portion of the hood? Or does the film really not change the color/shine of the part of the car its on? Just trying to get some thoughts as I decide what to do on mine when it comes in. Thanks

if installed right, the film doesn't affect the color / shine that much. i am a professional detailer so from certain angles i can see the difference, where the clear bra is not as smooth / shiny, but most of the time people won't notice there is a film at all

and yes, full hood is much better than half hood with that line across

Thanks - so that being said am I better off letting the dealership do it or finding and aftermarket person? I have never had this type of work done before on a new car. I may have to see if I can find someone with the entire hood done to see what that looks like. I have seen the partial hood done and the line is something that can be noticed.

As rominl already stated, if the installation is good, the product can be pretty clear especially with the entire panel wrapped via custom. Film is tucked and hidden wherever possible on this LP640 we just wrapped.

Thanks for sharing those pictures. If that entire hood and nose is done I cannot tell! It looks like I will just have to see one in person before deciding. I am in the Northeast in Mass so I will have to ask around for a good installer up here. My rx330's front looks like it was shot with a bb gun after 5 winters so this should help.

Thanks again.

Just a quick add-on question. The dealer told me they use Autobahn film. Has anyone used that type? Am I to assume it is similar to all the others? thanks again for all the help.

i have no idea what autobahn film is. i know there are two major ones, vneture tape, or 3m. 3m has more orange peel effect which i am not to fond of, that's why i have venture tape

did some google and seems like autobahn is 3m film. not 100% but seems like so
