BTW, if they give an IS-F loaner, I actually won't mind waiting 18 days Nice to drive an IS-F for a change everyday ...

LOL. I smiled when I typed it, and I meant it lovingly. I used to have one, too.

I've found over the years a dealer won't even pull a part from a new car he has on the lot ... unless you pull a gun on HIM. (j/k)

And I'm right in there on the mileage thing ... I already told the wife that 3 weeks of sitting might just get me back on track with the lease allowables.

Nah, unless I can get an LFA, I'm sticking with the ES. It's actually not a bad car, all things considered.

Ya know, not for nuthin', but if this is a known (albeit not common) problem, you would think Lexus would keep a supply of parts here in the USA.

Now you're being logical! Stop it!

Maybe they've just had enough of them blow up that they've used up all the parts ... ?

Mike, for a loaner I think I would have chosen a 2010 RX with the "joystick" NAV -- just to see how it compares with our touchscreen system.

Oh, yes and a loaner with a black interior of couse! (teeheehee)

Good luck, Mike - I'm sure they'll take good care of it.

Guess I'll get real acquainted with the ES350 before this is all over with.

You should tell the dealer that there is a company called FedEx....and they ship from Japan within three days

Yeah, and there's UPS, too. I understand it's going to be air-shipped, but there's some reason it's going to take awhile to get here. I don't think the $26 charge is the problem.

For some reason they don't want to tell you why the part is in short supply, sounds like the inventory is depleted and backlogged, an indication of more than a few isolated incidents maybe.

this sucks. it proves that any car you buy you would hope that you're lucky enough that you get one without potential problems, cause it could be expensive after waranty expires
