glad everything works out, seems like during the install you unplugged some unnecessary harness? if you only removed the two harnesses that goes to the unit it shouldn't affect the climate control ones

but either way, enjoy

jgamze, vaistech is ipod integration kits

allow you to plug in ipod using the usb connection and play songs through the stock system. all controls will be through steering wheel and head unit *****, so you don't have to touch the ipod. it also charges the ipod

vaistech also has units that play video through nav screen, but on the ls460 it's a bit limited depending on vehicle options

I ordered my PS override last week and should have it today. Does anyone know what a custom stereo shop would charge to do the install? I'm assuming the dealer wouldn't do the install?

Doesn't the new 2010 LS460 allow the driver to connect the ipod with all of the above features, without having to buy the vaistech kit? Or does the kit only apply to 2009 and earlier models? Thanks.

well OP has a 2007. the units will apply on most lexus vehicles, including 07-09 ls460

2010 lexus has usb connection already for ipod, some people did complain that the new interface is a bit slow and doesn't transfer as much information as the vaistech units. i haven't tried that myself to make sure though.

If the transfer of information for the ipod in even the new 2010 LS460 is slow, does it pay to still get the Vaistech kit? If so, how is it ordered, what is the cost, and who installs it?

it's a toss. vaistech units are around 200-300. i know some 2010 rx owners don't like the stock system and got the vaistech, but then some say the extra cost isn't worth it, so it's up to the owner

you can also email chung@prestigioussociety.com for more information. that's a DIY install though, or an audio shop can help you

Looks like my local car audio shop will install my PS unit for $75. Where does everyone have their remotes located?

It all depends on what you find comfortable. Some CL members have it hidden in the glove box, ashtray; others have it on the padded area by the drivers right knee. I have it right at the edge (underneath) of the glove box where it is barely visible but easily accessible by my Nav. BTW $75.00 is a very reasonable price.

I have mine on the edge of the console right next to my right knee:

Easy to reach and fairly inconspicuous.

My installer suggested installing in the center console on the aux / power panel and I went with it. It's a good location for me since I won't be using it much as I am mostly a local driver and I don't want to see anything non-factory. Looks great and works great! I'm mad at myself for waiting a year to buy this override. My installer normally uses another manufacturer that they have to mate with toggle switches and he was very impressed with the PS unit.

on my 2008 LS LWB i had a kit installed by Blue Tooth Valet, 760 481 7634, bluetooth.help@gmail.com. they came to my house and in about 1 1/2 hours had the kit installed, test drive, showed me the ropes and all done for less than $400. if you download your contact list into excel, they will transfer it to the car for free at the same time. They did a great job and i would highly recommend them. clean, neat install, not one problem or issue.
