I am petrified that the installation will damage/scuff/scrape/scratch some interior component. My GS350 was a rattlebox and I fear that removing the navigation unit will disrupt the fit and finish and cause rattles. Thoughts??

i wouldn't worry about it, it's all about how well things are put back. i have worked on a lot of ls, gs, and is. let's put it this way. when i take things out, a lot of times i actually notice they weren't put on well enough from factory (that's the part i don't like about the quality of new lexus). when i put them back, i actually go through the trouble to make sure things are aligned, etc...

on my gs350, i actually fixed a few rattles when i put things back together. the ls460 is totally in a different league though. although not as good as older lexus, the ls460 is still very well designed and there are far less rattles / squeaks compared to gs350. it's much more solid looking at all the clips and bolts location

Prestigious Society recommended an installer in the Chicago area for the override kit. The installer wants $300!!! Does anyone have any recommendations of Chicago installers who might be more reasonable? Is it easy enough that I could do it myself without harming anything?

I had mine done by an OC installer. Call PS. They'll hand deliver the unit to the installer. Review my earlier post for details. Good luck.

Do you have any pics of the install? What about the switch, as it seems that they all use the rounded, wired thing for all applications. PS should offer a square version, seems that square application would fit more in dash/console spots.

They mounted mine at the rear of the console at the left side. It's adhered to the vertical portion. With the black interior, you can barely see it.

Will post a pic sometime this week.
