2010 Wind Noise Fixed?
I'm moving on from my beloved Phaeton and have a lead on a 2010 LWB AWD. Can someone tell me if the wind noise issues on the LS have been fixed in the 2010 models?
Thanks in advance.

I've driven a few 2010 LS, particularly the LS460 Sport and the LS600hL. I did not hear any wind noise during my drives. I will have a better idea next month when I do a longer eval on the LS460 Sport.

the wind noise has been totally hit and miss anything, either a car doesn't have it at all, or it has it almost from day 1.
but on lwb i have to say it's pretty uncommon. i have driven at least 10 lwb and none of them have windnoise. so far i have driven one swb that ha serious windnoise issue

Thanks guys. I had pretty much found the black/black AWD LWB I was looking for, but this is of concern. If anyone else has been driving a 2010 LWB and can report either way on the wind noise issue, I would appriciate it.
Thanks.

The only guaranteed assurance you can get is by taking the vehicle for a test drive on the freeway prior to signing on the dotted line. LOL Please make sure you have the radio off and no chatty salesperson riding with you.

Here is an interesting review that I came across recently. It's sort of stale - posted about 6 months ago - but pertinent to this thread. I would be surprised that Lexus would make such a comment, so perhaps it was a dealership comment.
This was a review for a 2008 LS460 that was posted on Edmunds.com (http://www.edmunds.com/lexus/ls460/2...%2edate.html):

After a year with this car, it has been very dependable. However, like with most other owners, the side wind noise drives me batty. And calls to Lexus say that it is a design problem, that nothing can be done about it, and the problem won't be addressed until about the 2011 model year. Bummer. Also, the complete lockout of nearly every navigation feature while in motion renders the system nearly useless. Don't waste the money on this. Buy a Garman instead.
Favorite Features
Excellent sound system when the wind noise doesn't overpower it.
Suggested Improvements
Fewer doodads that I rarely use and concentration on the basic comfort and quality issues. Front seat does not have a tilting seat... only up and down and back and forth. Just the back tilts. I like to be able to adjust in this way and expect it on a car this expensive.

After a week with my 2010 SWB I really don't hear anything that would make me take it back to the dealer and complain. I usually drive with the radio fairly loud but even with it off nothing stands out on the highway for me.

My 2010 LS 460 Sport doesn't have any wind noise problem that I notice. I also test drove a non-sport LS 460 SWD before I bought this car and I didn't notice anything on that one either.
My BMW 550i had significant wind noise issues but they were due to defective seals - primarily at the sun roof.

I've completed a 1,300 mile drive with a 2010 LS Sport just recently. Wind noise was not an issue. I will touch more on that with the rest of the list of reviews I have completed at the bottom of my sig.
