Parking Brake Reset

Parking Brake Reset
AARRGGHH! I had a dead battery after two weeks of the car sitting in the garage and had to manually release the parking brake to get the car to a jumpable spot. The manual had no indication that a reset of the brake has to be done by the dealer. Is that the case? What a pain in the ***!

you had the parking brake set to automatic or manually engaged?
I have not heard of this one as of yet, when you say the dealer has to reset it, Im not sure I understand what that means, i.e in order to use it again it has to be reset to enable the auto feature?

Nope. Amazing huh..? Everything works fine but the manual disengagement of the brake cannot be re-engaged by a mere mortal. At least that's what I've been able to dig up online thus far. I'm hoping someone here will swoop in and save the day.

Alright team... My girl is at Cherry Hill Lexus for the battery diagnostic and parking brake reset. From what I've been told thus far, it should be all covered under CPO as the vehicle is less than 12 mos from purchase. I'm also nipping the misaligned/rattly glove compartment TSiB while she's there.
In the meantime I am driving the IS250 loaner. It's a fun little ride (somewhat underpowered) that reminds you how taught and responsive some sport models are today... It's not a bad ride, but definitely something that I predict will find many rattles in the years to come. More than anything else it magnifies how isolated we are in our LS's, and how it makes sense that every noise et al is clearly audible and drives us bonkers. Under throttle I don't think I'd hear my phone ring in the IS.

I love Lexus... They called and replaced the battery without even testing it. They said they don't want me to experience any issues in the future so they are taking the opportunity to do the preventative measure. The parking brake unit has an error code that they cannot fix so that is being replaced under warranty. The glove compartment has been ordered and will be in tomorrow for installation under the TSiB.
No charge.

I love Lexus for the same reason. I mentioned I felt the car cranked slow after sitting for a few days - they instantly replaced the battery, no questions asked. They programmed my smart card, replaced the brakes (even though it only had 18,000 miles) and a few other items - no charge.
Glad your issue is being resolved!

Picked up my girl today. Everything went smoothly and is working great! Man it was nice to feel the complete refinement of my LS vs. the loaner IS. Holy horse of a different color! Again, not dinging the IS, but we really have something special in the LS.
