Default Another remote start thread.....

I've done a search and seen the past posts but thought I'd beat this "dead horse" again.

My '07 LS460L lease is up and I've negotiated a reasonable deal on a new '10 LS460, with remote start thrown into the deal. The dealer (or salesman) didn't realize it wasn't compatible with the LS460, only the LX and RX.

The point is, this is a bit of a problem for me as the car will be parked outside a considerable amount in the Texas sun. This particular car has a black interior, which I like (but for the heat in the summer), but the remote start was going to alleviate the heat issue.

Has anyone gotten a remote start to work with an LS460? I wonder if this will be a future feature with Lexus Enform via iPhone?

My father had one installed by Lexus of Palm Beach in his '08. Works great. I am not there so I can't help more but you might wanna call that dealership. He tried an aftermarket shop first and after 8 hours the guy gave up. The dealer knew EXACTLY what to do and after waiting about a week for the unit (not sure if it's a Toyota product or aftermarket) they did a good job. Dad is not a penny pincher, however, so I suspect the dealer made a nice profit.

Second remote. He doesn't complain about it so I assume it's not a problem.

Default iphone

Viper came out with a unit you can use with your iphone to start your car and its supposed to be compatible with the LS460. Try your local audio shop or Best Buy.

I would imagine the viper system would otherwise disconnect the keyless/proximity detection etc for the key? I wonder if anyone has had this installed in a 460.

Also, does anyone know if you call Lexus Enform can they remote start your car? that would at least tell us it is technically possible and maybe an iphone app from Lexus could be in the works? That's about the only thing that would entice me to continue the service after the free trial....

Curious if anyone has had the Viper or any other remote start installed in their LS460.....getting hot in TX......

I haven't found a shop that will do it, they are either afraid they will screw something up or too lazy to read the electrical drawings..

Lexus now has its own remote start that works with the keyfob. I don't know if it can be retrofitted though.

As of a month or two ago it was not offered for the LS460, only the GX and LX.

Okay, you're more up-to-date than I am.

I see the RX has it as well:

Hmmm... $375, not bad!

Default Remote Start

Guys, I had a remote start installed in my 460 and now in my 600. The system is by Pursuit Model PRO9810N. It comes with an interface harness for the LS and also doubles as an alarm.

It appears the "pursuit" brand by Audiovox is exclusive to car dealers, and my local dealer does not do aftermarket installs. Can you post a picture of the remote or find any other details in the manual so we might find the equivalent retail product.....thanks

Is it a separate key fob? Do you lose the proximity sensor?

I'd be interested in a remote start if I was able to keep all my features.
