Default Two in a row!

The lease on my '07 LS 460 (SWB) was up, so after a bit of looking around I decided to go with another LS... I've never had two of the same model of car before (or even two consecutive cars from the same manufacturer)!

Ended up getting a 2010 LS 460 AWD, satin cashmere metallic w/ alabaster interior (matte wood finish), comfort-plus+ML audio, Telios wheels, and tinted windows. Awesome vehicle so far!

I'd post pics but the weather has been so sloppy since I got it. I'll wait for the skies to clear and the roads to dry a bit...

this is awesome. maybe once you drive the car more you can give us a better insight about the difference between rwd and awd, especially in wet / snowy conditions

congrats

I'll chirp in now; like night and day! With RWD, snow and all-season tires on a slope (even mild), you get nowhere. With AWD, great traction; adding snow tires increases that even more. Congrats IndyJeff, and get ready to enjoy your AWD more than before...

Default congrats

i've had my awd ls460 since august and love it in the snow up here in michigan although i have to remind myself that getting going is easier with awd but you still have to stop too. the confidence is awesome when trying to pull out onto a snowy road knowing you won't be spinning the wheels and fishtailing. hey - did your car come with tinted windows or was it an aftermarket and what brand was applied if you know

There's a decent snowstorm on the way for Thursday, so it looks like I'll have a good test soon!

On normal road conditions, the car is quieter inside than my 2007 was - much less wind/road noise. I like having the choice of sport/normal/comfort suspension settings too. And all the improvements to the electronics are really nice, especially the Bluetooth stereo as well as direct iPod integration via the USB port (maybe this was already part of the 2009 model?)

I hope you won't get to test your AWD capabilities this year, the next, and the next, and the next ........

Seriously, I certainly hope what happened last year will not be repeated ever ...

You're getting old

J/k You probably shouldn't have remembered, it's the unusually heavy snow here.
Burnaby and I did post a couple of pics here of the snow accumulation in our neighborhood though ...

i have only driven in snow (i mean real snow) one christmas week. it was "fun"

I second that emotion! Ditto! I traded my '07 for an '09AWD and this is the greatest ride ever invented. Pittsburgh has been very snowy these past few weeks and this thing rides like a tank thru anything. I've always wanted an AWD alpha-male flagship luxury CAR (not SUV) that doesn't have the quality issues of Mercedes. The LS460AWD is the ultimate vehicle for the snowbelt. Cost me about $25000 to upgrade and is probably the best $25000 I ever spent.
