I have to bring my gal in for her 45k service. It consists of oil, tire rotation, diff flush and fill (I nixed the ac filter). The cost you ask? $540... UGH

Frankly she couldn't provide the itemized details for me at the time of the call... Are you also servicing at a Lexus dealer?

If this a dealer check prices at new dealer. I have found substantial price differences comparing dealers. If possible find a independent Lexus service shop. By shopping around several Lexus service shops offer 1/2 the price service stops and they will honor these services at the Lexus dealer under warranty. I found several Lexus service shops offering a 30K service at half the dealer price in Houston.

I'm looking for some alternatives in the South Jersey / Delaware areas... Any suggestions out there?

outside of a major item I dont have the tools for, I just log all my basic services into the Lexus Owners site and have never had an issue on my vehicles for warranty repairs. As long as I perform the service to the recommended standards and log it, they have always been cool with it. I also buy all my vehicles from the same dealership too.. so maybe the helps. Last time I brought the LS in the service advisor looked at what I had done and just charged me for what I had left, that they had the tools for. Oil changes with 100% synth and the stock filter are about 65.00 DIY and takes about 15 min.

I already change my oil in my other vehicles so I think I'm on board for that. Do you still change at 5K for synth? I use Mobile 1 exclusively in my other vehicles.

Please share name and addresses in the Houston metropolitan area,(pm me). This saturday, I am taking in my kiddos IS350 for 30k service and the dealer has quoted me by e-mail to expect $640.00!!!

FYI - This is the first service that we will be paying for. Upto this point all services were provided by our dealership at no charge including a loaner. This has been the standard procedure on our RX350, LS460L, and LS430.

Remember too guys, that if you choose not to do you own basic maintenence (i.e. oil, tires, filters, bulbs, etc) , the Toyota dealerships are much more reasonable- I assume due to lower operating costs and a different clientele. In our area of NC, Lexus oil change is $ 140 and $ 49 at Toyota.

I wonder if that is region specific, I spoke to a few Toy dealers here in So Cal and they said. sorry need to take it to Lexus for service. I also have several great independents which are a lower cost option.

On the surface that seems expensive, but you have to remember that includes a donut and a bottonless cup of coffee.

LOL. Especially since the dealership I patronize is considered a classy joint... they offer kolaches and lattes.

"Wanna pick any nits?"
