Best Clear Bra?
Hello Lexi Owners:
I am looking for the best clear bra for my LS 460. Is 3M the best or another brand? Does anyone know the best place in Houston to buy one? I have called around and was quoted anywhere from $450 to $1000 for a clear bra. Of course that was for everything hood, fenders, head lights, bumper, and rear view mirrors. Big difference in price but I want a good one.

I'm going to have that installed at the port when my GX 460 comes in. I don't know which one Lexus is using. I don't think you can go wrong with the 3M. What quote did you get from your Lexus dealer? It's a 429.00 option from the port on the GX 460.

I have the 3M on the entire front end of the LS460 and it is great. I have seen the port (Long Beach) installed film on an IS250 at the dealership and it is not even close. The edges of the film were not all the way to the start of the painted areas. It probably depends on the contractor used but seriously doubt if 3M quality can be installed for $429 on the GX460.

Venture Shield is good stuff. Although Venture has been acquired by 3M, 3M still has a specific line for clear bra as well as Venture Shield.

I prefer Venture Shield. The last I knew, 3M didn't make a film big enough to do full hoods (that's what my last installer told me anyway) and I think the line across 1/3 or the middle of a hood is tacky. I've also had numerous bad experiences with 3M film... yellowing, excessive orange peel effect. From what I understand, they've resolved the yellowing in recent years.. I just don't think it's all it's cracked up to be.

aerotect hands down. i know tons of people in socal go to them, they are the official venture tape distributor, they have very good pricing, and they do very good work. all my cars (i am talking about a few) are done by them, even custom work, and i won't go anywhere else. they facility is nice, very friendly, and most important, they charge very reasonable compared to some other shops
