Hey guys/gals I like Daryll40 also own seatcovers and have since 1998 on new and used cars. What folks that dont like them dont get is like D40 said they are cool temp seat/wise in the summer and warm seat/temp wise in the winter. Also, had the same experience as D40 when trading past GS' when the seatcovers were removed. When you by Rocky Mountain as I and D40 have your talking hundreds of dollars in price. Ive paid as much $1,000(over actually) for all seats, headrest and front and backseats!!

The seatcovers arent cheap and dont damage seats like(cheaper ones) maybe $19.99 seatcovers can after years of being on the seats. My seat is also always comfortable. The sheepskin(lamb) I have is 1 inch thick. I can assure anyone who got these covers that I and D40 have will forever change opinions about seatcovers. Quality matters and they last for years. Got your back Daryll40 on the seatcovers and like the carpet protection as well.

I'll be in a LS460 or S550 by my birthday as well(or August just cant decide which to get for my B'day) guys/gals! Just cruising the LS460 section and saw this, had to reply to support seatcovers and Im 36!!! L.G.N.M

Also D40, that color is the tops with the covers. I had it on a GS I had. I still have brand new GS covers all black for 1998-2005 GS'!!! WOW! Your seats will be like new on trade in and save you money on the trade due to brand new looking seats due to the protection. My OCD is why I have my covers to and the resell as well buddy!!! L.G.N.M

Thanks for the support, Ace. It IS a tough crowd! I don't get the pimp wheels and tires thing so maybe I really am a grandpa car driver.

Daryll40, I may not agree with your carpet condom or your seat covers, but I will defend to the death your right to do it and not be ridiculed for it.

Its funny but I see pics here of colors/paint jobs, mods, wheels and other personalizations, and with some I think to myself that you couldn't pay me to do that to my car. However, I would never criticize it because its all personal taste. If that's what the person likes, then by all means go for it. What any one else thinks is irrelevant.

The only time I ridicule a person for their taste is my wife for the time 30 years ago when she bought me my one and only leisure suit!

I still have a leisure suit up there somewhere. If I can fit into it maybe I'll drive my grandpa car wearing it!

UPDATE MARCH 24, 2010: I probably am tempting the late snow gods, but yesterday I took out my contraption. It was AMAZING. The wrestling-mat tape worked PERFECTLY and clung completely thru one of the worst winters in Pittsburgh in my 50 year lifetime. It peeled right off like COLORFORMS with no damage to the paint, the clearcoat and no residual stickiness. The entire foot area is like new. I will DEFINITELY do this again next winter for this and my wife's RX330 (which now needs some SERIOUS shampooing etc etc). You guys may laugh, but in the real snow belt there is nothing else like this and it's CHEAP and EASY. Perhaps a bit silly looking for a few months, but IT WORKED!

I'm waiting for the Lexus all weather mats for my GX 460. Lexus quit selling the all weather mats after the stuck gas pedals. They should start selling them again soon.

You'll need the contractor bag n mat tape even more. Because the new mats won't protect much. They'll be cut wide around the pedals, exposing lots if carpet and plastic

Default carpet protection

Hey Daryl, don't use a garbage bag for carpet protection. There is specific carpet protection film for this purpose that is clear and sticks down.

carpet protection

this will let your beautiful-if-grandpa interior shine through.

Update: I just removed my contractor-bag-plastic under that lines the driver's feet area. (Watch it snow in Pittsburgh!). Fabulous. For a second year in a row the WRESTLER'S MAT tape held perfectly for the entire winter and didn't leave a mark when removing. Not an ounce of dirt underneath.
