most of the members here have the override kit from ps. it allows you to use all functions of the nav and also play video when the car is moving. you can email chung@prestigioussociety.com for more info

I have had this kit since 2007. It works very well as intended and relatively easy to install.... basically a plug & play.

JKN2000, I too have the Prestigious Society Override and I love it too. I've helped several Texans install the device (at N/C). PM me if you have questions.

I don't, however, recommend you watch a DVD while driving, but it's great for your passengers on a long trip.

If all you are interested in is watching DVD while in motion, that could be hard-wired pretty easily, it's just one wire carrying the parking brake signal to the display.

overpriced... $349 should be price installed, at least (do we get discount?)...

they don't offer this on older Lexus Models i.e. LS430, I have Pioneer 6 DVD changer with dual Alpine Monitors in the headrest. It's a pain in the *** to go thourgh "top menu" and play DVD with no screen in the front.

I had a local installer put mine in while I ate lunch next door...couldn't have been easier! Sound Proof in Douglasville, $75.00. Go next door to Taco Mac and eat a bunch of wings while you wait.

cutting wires pretty much give dealership a good excuse to void the electronic warranty, since wires are cut and manipulated, god knows what happened when they were cut and something could be shorted.

speaking from personal experience, i know some tech at dealership. i know of 2 cases, both IS owners. they went in saying that their navigation were acting up. the tech looked and found out that wires were cut and connected back, probably from trying to do wire hack. warranty work denied, put in computer that wire has been tempered with, and that information is available nationwide.

Hmm, its priced kinda high, but looks to be well worth it as it does look like u can access the navi while in motion too. I will definitely have to invest into this. And jlawr, I will have to touchbase with you once I receive this product.

yup, if it's just to enable dvd then it's too expensive. but it allows you to use the nav and everything when driving as well, that's a pretty big plus
