I purchased a 2010 LS460L AWD in Deep Sea Mica / Alabaster. I truly enjoy the car, especially after a never-satisfied experience with my former 2006 Mercedes S430 AWD.
I am attempting to hard wire my Valentine One radar detector into overhead console unit. In a Google search, someone had mentioned a 32-pin connector feeding power to the overhead unit in a 2007 LS460. I have been able to remove the overhead unit and found the 32-pin connector in my 2010. The wires into the 32-pin connector are incredibly thin. I'm afraid of tapping into the wires for fear of cutting these fragile wires.
Has anyone successfully tapped into a switched power line?

I had the dealer wire my Valentine One, but they went to the fuse box and un did the lower part of the dash to run the wire. It took them 1.5 hours. I would just have your dealer do it rather than taking the risk of screwing up your car.

I will be in the market for a V1 here shortly and was going to have it installed right above the rear view mirror and hard wired as well. Pics would be great.
Thanks

I think someone of this forum has posted that they are using the Blendmount. So far that's the best option I've found though I've heard that it vibrates quite a bit. Still the best looking solution in my opinion.

for anyone interested on the radar detector front... I just got an escort 9500ci installed and they put the controls inside the ashtray in the console and it looks great. Kind of pricey, but if you are looking for a pretty nice radar-detection system that has little to no visual impact to your interior (other than some little buttons/lights in your ashtray) the Escort 9500ci seems to fit the bill. I am no expert on radar detectors, but this one seems to have just about everything under the planet and looks nice.

Thanks everyone. I followed the Blendmount URL and found Invisicord. Blendmount is investigating if the Invisicord works on the 2010 Lexus mirror (as I cannot see the connector).
